Luke
Kingdom Culture: Living Out of This World
Jesus introduces Kingdom Culture through the Beatitudes by starting with “blessed are the poor in spirit,” teaching that true blessedness (makarios) is spiritual joy and prosperity in God that isn’t dependent on outward circumstances and begins with humility and spiritual bankruptcy before Him. We are called to surrender pride and self-sufficiency, recognize daily dependence on the Holy Spirit, and respond with repentance, gratitude, and a distinct way of living that reflects the kingdom rather than the world.
